International Girls in ICT Day 2022 Event

The International Girls in ICT Day 2022, an ITU-Initiated observance to encourage young girls to delve into ICT related careers, and seeks to bridge the gender divide in the field of ICT, was organised by eBusiness Life Communication Limited on May 12, 2022 at the Skyline Hall of the Oriental Hotel, Lagos.

The 2022 event, which had its theme as "Access And Safety", was well attended by a total of 111 students drawn from 11 schools from Lagos and Ogun states.

Schools that attended came from four (4) public schools and seven (7) private schools:

  • Baptist Girls Academy, Obanikoro
  • Clemmy High School, Egbe
  • Faith Academy, Otta, Ogun State
  • Grace High School, Gbagada
  • Ikoyi Senior College, Ikoyi
  • Kuramo Senior College, Victoria Island, Lagos
  • Peaklane Academy, Alagbole, Ogun State
  • Reagan Memorial Baptist Girls Secondary School, Yaba, Lagos
  • Wahab Folawiyo Senior Sec. School, Ikoyi
  • Victoria Island Senior Sec. School, Lagos
  • Viviam Fowler Memorial College for Girls, Oregun, Lagos.

Also, corporates that attended include representatives from sponsoring partners:

Activities for the day included Animation Video competition and STEM Quiz competition among participating schools. Also, there was a student's Roundtable discussion moderated by OAP/Presenter, RaveTV, Louisa Olaniyi.

Winners emerged from the students' competitions and won varying PC Tablets prizes, and Plaques for their schools:

Animation Competition

  • First Position: Kuramo Senior Sec. School
  • Second Position: Baptist Girls Academy
  • Third Position: Grace High School

Quiz Competition

  • First Position: Peaklane Secondary School
  • Second Position: Faith Academy, Otta
  • Third Position: Lagoon Secondary School

Also, some corporates were honoured with the eBusiness Life ICT Girls Advocacy Award for their consistent contributions and support towards eBusiness Life International Girls in ICT Day event over the years. They include:
